1. What data we collect
Data you provide:
- Email address and password (or Google OAuth) when registering
- Resume text you paste or upload
- Job description text
- Profile information: name, phone, location, LinkedIn URL
- Company name and target role during onboarding
Data collected automatically:
- Usage events via PostHog (pages, features, clicks)
- Error logs via Sentry
- IP address for rate limiting and security
Payment data:
Payment information is collected and processed exclusively by our authorized payment processor and Merchant of Record. We never store or have access to your full card details.
2. How we use your data
- To generate tailored resumes and cover letters using AI
- To authenticate you and maintain your session
- To display and manage your resume history
- To enforce plan limits and prevent abuse
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
- To analyze usage and improve the service
- To process payments via our authorized payment processor
We do not use your resume content to train AI models. Resume text is sent to Anthropic's API for processing only.
3. Third-party services
- Supabase — Database and authentication
- Anthropic — AI resume generation
- Authorized payment processor — Payment processing and Merchant of Record (handles all transactions, billing, tax compliance, and refunds)
- PostHog — Product analytics
- Sentry — Error monitoring
- Vercel — Hosting
- Upstash — Rate limiting
Our Merchant of Record handles all transactions on our behalf, including payment processing, billing, and tax compliance. Your payment data is governed by their privacy policy, which we will reference here once verified.
4. Data retention
- Account and resume data: until you delete your account
- Error logs: 90 days
- Payment records: retained by our Merchant of Record per applicable legal obligations (typically 7 years for tax/audit purposes)
5. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your personal data. To exercise these rights, email support@hiredge.co. We respond within 30 days.
You can delete your account and all data from Settings → Delete Account.
6. Cookies
We use only essential authentication cookies (Supabase session tokens). PostHog uses a first-party analytics cookie. No advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
7. Security
We use TLS encryption in transit and encrypted storage. No system is 100% secure — use a strong password.
8. Children
HirEdge is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes
We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice.
